WHAT IS BEESWAX?

Beeswax is a natural wax produced by honeybees. It is an essential part of the beehive and is used by bees to build the hexagonal cells of their honeycomb, where they store honey, pollen, and larvae.

The bees secrete the wax through special glands on the underside of their abdomen, then chew the tiny flakes of wax and shape them into the sturdy structure of the honeycomb.

Advantages of beeswax candles

1

No toxic chemicals

When burning beeswax candles, no harmful chemicals like benzene or toluene are released—substances that are found in paraffin candles. This means they produce cleaner air. They also produce little to no soot.

2

Good for people with allergies or asthma

Since beeswax candles do not release toxic substances and help purify the air, they are a better choice for people with respiratory issues, allergies, or asthma.

4

Natural honey scent

Beeswax candles have a subtle, natural honey aroma without the need for artificial fragrances.

5

Golden glow

Beeswax candles burn with a warm, golden glow that creates a particularly cozy ambiance. This warm light is often considered more pleasant and calming than the brighter light of other candles.

3

Negative ions

Beeswax candles are said to release negative ions when burned. These ions can help neutralize airborne pollutants, such as dust, pollen, and mold, by making them heavier and causing them to fall to the ground. This results in cleaner air inside the home.
